eighteen

Photobucket

I have been eighteen for a while, but I didn’t celebrate my big day with my friends because I was in Asia that moment. So here we go! I was so lucky with weather since I had outside in my neighbor’s lovely garden since it started to rain the day before and after, few! However, it got so stressful when my parents decided to lock me outside from the house when I still needed some stuff. Argh, and this is not the first time they have done it. Some people decide to celebrate their the day big and have loads of people, I did the opposite. I love to have it small and intimate so therefore I had a dinner party with 16 of my closest friends. We had marinade rosemary chicken with potatosalad and salad and to desert we could choose between rhubarb pie with vanilla sauce or apple cake with ice cream. Shizz, I forgot to take pictures of the food, but anyways, I had a lovely evening with colorful lanterns and genius mustache

like a grandmother

Photobucketnike tshirt, vintage floral maxi skirt and briefcase, bianco oxfords

Oh holy crap I’m a senior now! I had my first school day today and it was a bit weird I guess, after two months of freedom. I feel gutted since this will be my last year of Videregående (College, Secondary school or whatever) before I’m moving to Oslo and starting at Uni. I mean – even the Russ magazine has arrived in the mail and it doesn’t properly start before next spring! Wow, small “you are growing old” signs everywhere.

Went to Marianne’s eighteen birthday party last Saturday, and had a little pre-fun outside Simen’s house before leaving for the birthday party. Had a sweet and cozy time with the girls and of course, the only boy there, Simen while dancing and eating chicken fajitas(yumyum in my tummy) before starting at school again, but things got sad when we realized flying lanterns outside where in memory for those who died during 22nd July. So as respect, we had one minute silent outside at the porch. I can’t believe today is one month ago since the horrible tragedy.

I do kinda feel like a grandmother, especially wearing the maxi skirt above. It’s like the whole outfit is screaming grandmother. Oh well, I always thought grandmothers are awesome persons, haha!

slottsfjell, baby!

Photobucket

Expect a huge and friggin long post about Slottsfjell festival I attended last month. I can’t believe it has been a month since the festival, damn, and school is around the corner. Anyways, the results of bringing three disposable cameras to the festival arrived just in right time because around this time last month, I was sitting on the grass and enjoying the sunbeam with music in the background. And please excuse for my poor photographer skills.

I really miss the atmosphere – it was so, so good. People were walking around and so open and damn, I met a lot of Arctic Monkeys fans! Haha, I knew wearing an arctic monkeys band t-shirt was a good idea. Norwegian people are usually quiet and shut but at festivals, BAM, they are free and the social door is open. That’s why I love festivals so much, the atmosphere is fucking marvelous.

We went there a day earlier to get a decent camping spot. The good thing about Slottsfjell Festival, is that the festival it only takes 35 minutes with train from Larvik to Tønsberg- the festival location, which was pretty good ‘cause Hanna, not surprisingly enough, managed to forget her tickets.

The first day of Slottsfjell, Thursday with other words, was definitely the best of those three days the festival consisted of, I wore a red short dress which I got from my Singpore trip and I tried out the “socks in shoes” trend and never again, will I wear that dress during a concert because apparently, jumping around in the crowd doesn’t work out.

All the bands I wanted desperately to see were lined up that day. The area the festival was held at was truly a gorgeous place to have it. The view from the Tårnelunden was speechless! And I really liked where they placed the stages around the area – you could walking around and suddenly pop into a concert and join other people and you could really see that the people behind it all really wanted to show and exploit its nature, and this was my first time at Slottsfjell, so i really didn't know what is was expected.

Razika performed there and was first up for my “to watch” list. I had already seen them once before, but they respelled my love for them again. After few minutes with Razika I had to run to the next scene to catch a good standing before Two Door Cinema Club was starting, and I got almost the first row! I guess Two Door Cinema Club was probably the best of it all, they are so good at live. Rest of the night consisted of jumping around and dancing to Crystal Castles and watching Røyksopp from someone shoulders.

Hmm, what did I do during the Friday? Oh , it rained that day, A LOT. But thank god, I was prepared with brining my funny rubber boots and a rain poncho.

MHOO, Madcon, Katy B, Biffy Clyro, and Mr Orkester were on the set list. During the Madcon we and my friends were asked to get photographed and the next thing I knew, I was texted by Simen that I was on the local newspaper next day in my hometown, Larvik Hmm, I'm celebretity now

Saturday, the last day of the festival, was a perfect day to end the festival – the weather turned nice and Kaizers Orchestra was the headliner. I saw them in April, but this time it was different. So much better than last time, even though the concert lasted shorter but this one was so perfect in many ways. Except being squeezed in the crowd but that is just part of the fun. I managed to squeeze some time for Niki and the Dove before rushing to Datarock. I wished I had some more pictures from that day, but sadly I ran out of disposable camera or neither did I bring along my DSLR.

One to things I really love about festivals, except for the feeling you get, is the food. Oh food, you are like a good drug to me <3. I didn’t realize they had a Ben&Jerry stand there before the very last day at Slottsfjell, so on the hottest day in July, I had one scoop of the delightful chocolate fudge brownie and my newest favorite, Fairly nuts.

Throughout the whole Slottsfjell I had a blast time, probably the biggest happening of this year so far. I have gained so many memories and experienced in so little time, and learned what i shall bring along and not. So in other words, I'm definitely going to attend the next year’s one, and this time, they will have their 10th anniversary as a festival. Damn, that is going to be super duper good one and this time, I will bring more disposable cameras.

I managed to take some outfit pictures before leaving for a daytrip to Sweden with a bunch of friends early morning, which is probably why I look so incredible, tired on the pictures. Sorry for that, my sleeping pattern is kinda crazy at the moment and waking up 8 am in the morning is the first time I have done in a very very long time this summer.

My blogging hasn’t either been on the top lately, I guess I have devoted more time on being with friends and work since the summer holiday is soon to an end instead of hanging in front of the laptop. Sorry guys, I hope this song can be plaster on the wound for the rare update on blog. I love this song much, and has been played numerous times during my summer
